What are the side effects?
If the fever lasts more than 24 hours and is higher than 38ºC /100.4ºF, then you should see a doctor. Don’t say you tried to have an abortion.
Misoprostol (Cytotec – 200mcg), medication used to induce an abortion might provoke some secondary and TRANSITORY, side effects, such as:
- Cramps
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Pain in the soles
- Intense cold

In case you feel fever that starts soon after using Misoprostol (Cytotec – 200mcg), lasts less than 24 hours and is lower than 38ºC / 100.4ºF, then know this is a is a typical and transitory side effect.
A heavier bleeding or one that resembles to a regular menstrual period is the expected effect. That means the process of abortion is happening. Don’t worry.
