Yes, you can use Cytotec several times.
Due to multiple personal reasons, women might need to have more that one abortion during their entire life. However, outside the scope of personal grounds, ending more than one pregnancy may happen due to a previous failure of Cytotec. This leads to another medical abortion.
If necessary, a woman can repeat the use of Cytotec to perform the abortion.
Taking a second, or even more doses of Misoprostol (Cytotec – 200mcg), does not entail any risk for your health, as long as you follow the instructions correctly.
INCREASE YOUR KNOWLEDGE
The guidelines given by the WHO (World Health Organization) define the maximum doses for a safe use of Misoprostol (Cytotec – 200mcg) in pregnancies with different lenghts.
For pregnancies with less than 12 weeks (84 days)
The method of choice for a pharmacological abortion is 800 ug of Misoprostol, administered vaginally or sublingually. It is possible to take up to three repeated doses of 800 ug at intervals of at least three hours, but not more than 12 hours.
For pregnancies longer than 12 weeks (84 days)
The method of choice for a pharmacological abortion is 400 mg of Misoprostol administered vaginally or sublingually, repeated every three hours for a maximum of five doses.
In the case of pregnancies over 24 weeks
It is necessary to reduce the dose of Misoprostol, due to a higher sensitivity to prostaglandins in the uterus . However, the lack of clinical studies does not allow to give more specific dose recommendations.
