Does Misoprostol have side effects?
What are these?
The medication used for medical abortions can, occasionally, cause side effects such as pain and cramps, including bleeding with clots and tissue.
Depending on each body, the side effects may vary widely. Some women don’t experience significant effects.
In some cases the side effects might include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness or fever. Fever that starts soon after taking Misoprostol (Cytotec – 200mcg), lasts less than 24 hours and is lower than 38°C/100.04ºF, is COMMON side effect.
If the fever lasts more than 24 hours or exceeds 38ºC/100.04ºF, you should seek medical help. An allergic reaction to this medication can cause hives (small itchy bumps or spots on the skin). If your side effects are extreme, there might have been a complication.

Headaches, light dizziness, pain in the soles, and fever are symptoms that will disappear naturally (18).
If the fever lasts longer than 24 hours or if it exceeds 38ºC/100.04ºF, it will be necessary to go see a doctor, since this is a dangerous situation.
